What's different in October
The 3rd is a Saturday, so Social Security payments due that day arrive on Friday, October 2.
SSI is paid twice this month: October's payment on Thursday, October 1, and November's paid early on Friday, October 30. The second one is not extra money, so there is no SSI payment in November.
SSA announces the 2027 cost-of-living adjustment on Wednesday, October 14. Estimate your new amount.
This page moves to November on October 29, 2026, the day after the last October payment. If a payment doesn't arrive, SSA asks you to wait three more mail days before contacting them.
